2004
The
first Sweet HD Festival was a great success
– the programme, panellists, filmmakers
and delegates, combined with the buzzing surroundings
of Edinburgh in August, all came together
to create a relaxed, creative and exciting
atmosphere.
The
September issue of High Definition Magazine
has an excellent feature of the Festival,

by Eddy Marshall, written by Ian Winter and
produced by Jonathan Brown.

short had a special screening at the NFT3
after winning the prize. Eddy said: "Winning
the Sweet HD has given both me and the film
a real boost. I've had some really good meetings
off the back of it, which look very promising."

Sweet
Short
The Museum Guard written by Alan Harris was
the first Sweet HD Shorts Screenplay competition
Winner and is now in pre-production - watch
this space for further details.
"In
just seven months, organisers have created
a program that is diverse, engaging, open,
excellent value for money, educational and
understands the direction which filmmaking
is moving in. They have scooped the EIFF,
not just on the technology front, but by providing
a platform to encourage public and professionals
alike. You should be very excited at what
the HD Festival is doing. It has no pretence
about it and is sure to be a major fixture
in Edinburgh’s August diary henceforth."
