Sweet Shows Rock the House at Fringe Sunday

Sunday was a monumental day for Sweet as we were out and about in the Meadows supporting our performers.

Six Sweet Venues performers took the various stages and showed local and international festival goers what the Fringe is really about. From comedy to drama and even physical theatre, the Sweet acts drew in the crowds.

Fringe Sunday Featured acts from Sweet 2008:

Ginny Davis – Ten Days that Shook the Kitchen
A Brief History of Scotland – We Done Loads!
Wolfgang Weinberger - A GUIDE TO SEXUAL MISERY
Jody Kamali - Backpacker 2
Dan Rothenberg and Colleen Crabtree - Regretrosexual – The Love Story
Sean Choolburra - Live & Deadly & In-Didge Workshops

Weathering the rain, sun and more rain it turned out to be a fun day filled with colourful
Sweet World balloons and bubbly conversation highlighting our innovative and graphically ingenious Venue Guide and the great line-up it holds inside.

Well done!

Superb! Scratch and Open Mic Night's in the LaSweet Cantina Ole`

The first of the Your Space Scratch and Open Mic Night’s kicked off at the
LaSweet Cantina (Venue 295) last night.

This event enables some of the hottest new and old writing, comedy and music to showcase new talent from around the world. The likes of Shameka Cunningham, Martin Hill, Luke Benson, Josh Widdicombe and Anna Pelly took to the stage and set the night on fire with excellent performances.

Scratch Nights was then followed by a more traditional Open Mic which sampled comedy, music, theatre and spoken word in the South American bear-pit that is the LaSweetCantina.

Yourspace and the Open Mic will be on for the rest of the Fringe except for the 4th, 11th and the 18th August - £7.50 (£6.50) - and is run in association with Stuffed Animals Media. http://www.stuffedanimalsmedia.com/
Open Mic (has the same dates as above) - New performers can register at the venue from 10pm.

The Interior design of the LaSweetCantina is done by David ' The One' Martin
